Do you aspire to health and vitality? Desire more oomph in life? Miss your peace of mind? Come de-stress and return to your present essence with some gentle movement, alignment, simple standing and walking exercises, and stillness.
This class series will focus on four mind-intents of breathing; natal, reverse, embryonic and cellular. Their application, benefit and support will be woven into a simple sequence you may practice at home. They’re all good and provide different benefits to mind and body.
Natal breathing and reverse breathing are mostly inhale and exhale based. Natal breathing provides a peaceful state of mind as seen in resting newborns and also in many animals at rest. Reverse breathing involves a more directed intention and increases the energizing effects of the breath. A fluid centered breath, embryological breathing or "breathing without breathing," allows a flowing of breath and deep peace. It may be directed (and conversely invited) deep into the source of our vitality as it fluidly descends into the membranes and vacancies of the abdomen. Fluid mind may continue into the marrow cavities of bone and may help maintain our deepest sense of vitality. Cellular breathing brings a globality and unity of being. A oneness with self and other allows for pause in the process with new options and possibility to arise.
Material for this class is informed by "traditional" practices and principles of chi gung and "non-traditional" practices and principles of Body-Mind Centering.
There is no particular experience needed to come to class. All are welcome.
